Hi everyone, and welcome to my stop on the Stamp It! 3 Ways blog hop!

This special issue was fun to contribute to, and if you haven't seen it yet you should pick up a copy. The same stamp sets were given to 3 different designers and everyone came up with cards in their own unique style that really showcases the versatility of the sets.

For this hop we were asked to create something new with one of the sets they worked with for the issue.

I made this card with the Grunge set from Skipping Stones. This is a fun set with 3 trendy background patterns and 4 sentiments. I used the Asian style background with the Get Well sentiment for my springy, girly card.

Paper Made Bakery

Hi everyone.

So last week was a good week for me. First winning the spot in the Ella Publishing class, and then I also won a Fresh Baked kit from Paper Made Bakery from a random draw of their Facebook "likers".

I looked around a little and couldn't find the kit I got on their website. It must now be sold out. It is a fall themed kit that has 2 Memory Box wood mount stamps, Autumn Tree Landscape and Happy Fall, a full 6" x 6" MME All Spice patterned paper mini deck, a full pack of Memory Box Cocoa notecards and envelopes, and some absolutely gorgeous buttons and flower embellishments that I'm not sure I'll ever be able to de-hoard. This kit has all of my favorite kinds of stuff! Great stamps, a full deck of papers, and the Memory Box cards with matching envelopes are such a treat. I'm usually so practical and just use office supply envelopes, but its so much nicer to have the envelopes match the card base.

I wanted to turn the fall landscape into a spring scene. I stamped the image with Ranger Archival on watercolor paper and used Faber Castell Aquarelle watercolor pencils for the coloring. Then I trimmed it up before realizing that I had to get a sentiment on there so I went looking for one with tiny type and found this one from Clear and Simple Stamp's Thank You set.

Project Life December 2011

Hi everyone. I've got some Project Life scrapbooking to share today. I ordered some of this stuff, the mix of page protectors and the grid cards, back in October intending to start PL in 2012. But then I was so excited about the idea I just started in October. I did a 2 page spread covering October, then another for November, and now here is December.

Left side:

I was intending to make my own stuff for this, but then a few weeks ago I ordered the Becky Higgins Clementine kit. I used one of the Clementine cards (the one with the clock) and added some stamping from the Studio AE November kit. I used the Design F page for the left side and have our 2011 Christmas card in the one 4x6 pocket.

Right side:

I used Design E, which is 4 6x6 pockets. I had a tiny bit of leftover JBS Mercantile Christmas papers and used them here along with a JBS bingo card.

There are also a few cards I made with the Journaling Cards 2012 digital kit and Courier New font. If you don't see a vintage typewriter in your future to type on the actual BH cards these digital cards and a typewriter style font is the way to go.

So now that I've done Project Life once a month for 3 months I can honestly say that I don't think I have it in me to do this every week! A 2 page spread covering 2 weeks might be more realistic. Anyway, its a great concept and I'm so glad its become so popular.

Take 12

I was very fortunate to win a spot in Ella Publishing's Take 12 class. The concept of this class (in a nutshell) is that you take 12 pictures on the 12th day of each month, then scrap them. I tried this a few years ago and lost steam after 4-5 months. I really liked taking the pictures, but I was overthinking how I would scrap them and what print sizes to order and stuff like that. Pfft! But I'm excited to start this project again, especially since this year is 2012. In December the pictures will be taken on 12-12-12. How cool is that?

Ella sent me an email yesterday morning reminding me that it was the 12th (thank goodness) and I took my pictures. Then I got my butt in gear and digi scrapped them.

It was a cold, rainy day. The kids were in school and my husband was working at home. I did a lot of chores and a few errands. A nice, quiet morning until the 2 tornadoes got home from school!

One of the optional assignments for this month was to photograph a collection. The top right photo is my stamp binders, the 12x12 scrapbook I'm using for Project Life, and my Clementine kit.

The scalloped punch is an oldie from Martha Stewart Crafts, the Doily Lace punch. You can tell its an old punch because the sides don't flip up. I think it was one of the original styles.

Today I made a Valentine with one of the solid image stamps in the set:

Do not be scared of these solid images! I used Memento ink here. I think Memento gives a nice, even coverage and keeps the details. It also can be used with Copic markers. I've also gotten good results with Colorbox chalk inks, Jenni Bowlin ink, and Palette inks. What I do, after I ink up the image I take a good look at the surface to be sure it is inked evenly and that there are no lint specks. Then take a deep breath, press the stamp to the paper and hope for the best. Sometimes it takes a few tries before I get one I'm happy with :) but it can be done!

Clear and Simple Stamps Jan/Feb Release

Hi everyone!

Today is Release Day at Clear and Simple Stamps, and its a big one!

I made this cute little party favor gift bag using the Party Favor #1 die and stamps from Taglines: Critters. The gift bag measures approx 2 1/2" x 3 3/4" x 1 1/4". The die works great with nice scores on all of the folds to make it come together very neatly and easily. I used CSS's Trendsetter Blue cardstock, which is one of my favorites. And the stamps are all so cute! They are designed to coordinate with the Tags #1 dies that were released in November.

Clear and Simple Stamps January Peek

There is a big release coming on January 5th at Clear and Simple Stamps!

I made this little Valentine gift box using just a few of the awesome new stamps and dies that will be available. The gift box measures 2 3/4" square x 1 1/2" high. I used patterned papers from the Fancy Pants Love Story mini deck. The box dies are just small enough to fit on a 6" x 6" piece and I think the shrunk down patterns are perfect for a little gift box like this.

The gift box was made with the Party Favor 2 dies. The hearts are from the Hearts Shapes die set. The stamps (the scroll and sentiment) are from Love Cupid. Everything (and lots more!) is releasing on the 5th.

Technique Tuesday Studio AE January Kit

I peeked a bit of this card a few days ago, made with one of the stamps from January 2012's Studio AE kit, Bring on the Love.

I stamped the sentiment with Memento Bamboo Leaves ink. The blue piece I made with one of the Caran d'Ache Neocolor 2 watercolor crayons by just scribbling on watercolor paper and going over the scribble with a wet paintbrush to make a washed background. The twine is Lemon Divine Twine.

One More Studio AE December Layout

Hi everyone!

The month is almost over, but there is still time to subscribe to Studio AE if you want to start with the December kit. I don't scrap much about Willie's Autism because sometimes its a struggle for me to focus on the positive instead of dwelling on the negative. But I got this one made! The stuff he's playing with is from a recipe I found on Pinterest. The pin calls it Slime, but when I showed it to one of Willie's therapists he said they call it "gak". It is a mix of borax, which is a powdered laundry detergent booster, water, and Elmers glue. In the pin they use clear glue and add green dye. We just used the white glue. Anyway, Willie really took an interest in this stuff! He doesn't like play doh too much but he likes this. It comes out the consistency of cooked egg whites, but very stretchy and really doesn't leave a residue on your hands. It keeps for weeks in a ziploc bag before it starts to break down and get gluey again. If you've got kids home this week and are looking for an activity I would recommend mixing up some Slime/Gak. Its pretty cool!

December Daily - Dec 3,4,5, and more

Hi everyone!

I have a few December Daily tags to share today. A whole lot of pictures since I let them pile up before posting and I'm still not caught up but not too far behind, either.

My daughter got to play in a rock band organized by her guitar teacher at the music store. I got there too late to take pictures so I used this one from afterwards when we went out to lunch.

December 4th, we did our Christmas card photo shoot. I posted the photo card here when I made it. I printed it small for the tag here.

Journaling on the back, about our plans to get Willie an IPad. He's autistic, and non verbal. They use one at his school and we decided its time to get one in the program here at home.

Studio AE from Technique Tuesday December Blog Hop

Hi everyone!

Its time for another Studio AE blog hop! Today we're featuring the December kit, It's OK designed by Ali.

Such a great mix of type and handwriting!

My project for today's hop is a Project Life spread. I had intended to start PL in 2012. I ordered a few things from Amazon - the mix of pages and the grid cards - and when they showed up a few weeks ago I thought why wait? I did a 2 page spread for the month of October and now another spread for November.

Here is the left side:

I did a lot better this month with collecting ephemera for PL. I saved tags and ticket stubs, and when my daughter's school pictures came home right away I cut one out for PL.

I made the November card with the By the Day digital kit. I also used patterned papers from the Jillibean Soup Sweet and Sour Soup mini deck, stamps from Its OK, and also a stamp from Technique Tuesday's Who What Where set.

Here is the 2 page spread:

I added an 8 1/2" x 11" pocket with some special artwork that Willie brought home from school.

Here is the right side:

The Happy Thanksgiving stamp is from the Studio AE October kit. Then for the other card I used another stamp from It's OK, and Technique Tuesday's This Life stamp for the journaling block, which is a great fit for the 3" x 4" pockets of Project Life.

This movie that my daughter and my husband went to see, the Mighty Macs, is about the Immaculata University's women's basketball team in the 1970's. The grade school that my daughter goes to is run by the same order of Nuns that runs Immaculata so this movie was a pretty big deal when it came out. She went to see it on opening day as a school field trip, but then saw it again with my husband. I made a mistake on my journaling card, though! I thought they saw the movie the day before Thanksgiving, but looking at the date on the ticket stub they actually went on the Monday after so I'll have to re-do that :)

Today I have a card to share which was published in issue #93 of the UK magazine Papercraft Inspirations. This is a variation of a tutorial I did for the Technique Tuesday blog a few months back. The ornament is die cut white cardstock using the Tim Holtz Carved Ornaments die, then I bent the stamps from Technique Tuesday's Vintage Lace stamp set to give the look of dimension to the ornament. I silver embossed the Vintage Lace and the ornament topper, and used the foam blending tool to sponge on Broken China Distress ink. The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday's Good Cheer stamp set.

Hi everyone.

Today I have some hybrid cards to share. This first one was made with Polka Dot Pixels Believe digital kit. The paper, banner, and tree are all from the kit. The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday's Good Cheer stamp set. Ali's writing goes with anything, doesn't it?

And here is our Christmas card for this year

I made it with the Happy Greetings digital card kit. Its the simplest thing to make. Just drop in the photo, then make a little text box in the corner to add the signature. What I love about this card is that its 4" x 6" (translation = cheap to print!). I ordered prints from Snapfish during their penny prints sale. What I was planning on doing was trimming off the right side to bring the size down to 4" x 5 1/2" so that I could send them out in standard A2 sized envelopes, but I'm starting to like that little chevron strip down the right so I think I'll spring for 4" x 6" envelopes. I saw them at Staples and they're not expensive.

December Daily - Dec 1st and 2nd

Hi everyone!

I've been working on my December Daily and I have December 1st and 2nd ready to share today. This year I'm doing tags. I posted my idea/foundation tags for the project a few weeks ago, you can check it out here.

So on Thursday my husband and I had to go into town to sign some papers at the bank and he took me out to lunch afterwards. Luckily we got a table near a window so I was able to get some pretty good pictures with my phone. For the tag base I die cut white cardstock with the Tim Holtz Tag and Bookplate die, then clear embossed 2 of the sentiments from Technique Tuesday's Believe stamp set and went over the tag with the foam blending tool and Distress Tumbled Glass and Broken China. For the date I used the A Date With Ali stamp set.

My daughter (she's 12) did her Christmas list on Power Point this year. She had it ready a few weeks ago and it has clickable links so now I'm almost done shopping for her and just working on a few more things to surprise her with.

Snow Cute

Hi everyone.

Today I have a hybrid card to share. The penguin is from the Cute Holiday Stickers kit designed by Holly Brooke Jones and the stamps are from Holly's My Cute Stamps Snow Cute stamp set. Holly's designs are always so much fun to work with. Oh my, I just went to Holly's store to link up the stamps and I see she's having a 50% off sale. This is a great deal on some great stamps!

So yesterday was the first of December and I actually remembered to take pictures for my December Daily. Yay! We don't have any decorations up yet but I have done a good amount of Christmas shopping which is always nice to get out of the way early.

Technique Tuesday Studio AE December Kit

Hi everyone!

Today is the first of the month so I get to start sharing projects made with this month's Studio AE kit. The set is called It's OK.

I made this layout using a few of the stamps in the kit. These 2 cuties are my cousin's kids. My aunt Patty, their grandma, emailed me this picture she took with her phone a few weeks ago and it was just so cute I made sure to save it to print rather than just let it slip away with the email.

Its still early in the morning on the 1st and the kit thumbnail is not yet up on the Technique Tuesday website so I took a picture of my stamps for anyone anxious to see what is in the set.

Technique Tuesday has released a few new stamp sets just in time for the holidays.

This first card I made with Christmas Circles. This one would be so easy to mass produce. I used all Memento inks for the stamping. These solid image stamps can be tricky and sometimes come out looking kind of blobby. I think the Memento gives a nice even coverage and still keeps the details.

And for this one I used Warm Winter Wishes and heat embossed both the trees and the snowflakes/sentiment.

And this one is a little late for cards but maybe right on time of you're a scrapbooker, Halloween Circles.

Cornish Heritage Farms Grand Reopening Blog Hop

Today is reopening day for Cornish Heritage Farms! I've made a card for the Blog Hop with one of their digital stamps, Rabbit in Hat. I thought he was just so cute holding out his paw like that! I printed him out on Copic Xpress paper and did a little Copic coloring, then printed him out again on the blue patterned paper with a computer generated sentiment and added my cut out and colored rabbit with pop dots.

The store has a ton of digital stamps available. Some you'll recognize from the old CHF and some were not previously released. And red rubber Backgrounders are in the works! You can check out the blog or Facebook page for details on these as they become available.

Cornish Heritage Farms Sneak Peek

Cornish Heritage Farms is back!

Tanya of Stampers Ink and Riley & Co is the proud new owner of Cornish Heritage Farms. She recently bought the images and is in the process of releasing some of the images (the Backgrounders - yay!) as red rubber and some of the images as digital stamps.

The card I've made here uses one of the new digital stamps. I did some paper piecing by sizing my canvas at 4" x 6", adding the image and computer generated sentiment (Apple Crumble font) and then cutting the patterned papers (Studio Calico Autumn Press) to 4" x 6" and putting them in the photo tray to print it out.

Project Life

I've started Project Life! I was planning to do this for 2012, but I went ahead and ordered a few things, the pages and the grid cards, and I got so excited about it when they showed up that I decided to just start now.

I did a 2 page spread for our month of October.

Here is the left side.

It was fun to make these cards for the pockets but I think I'll be buying the Clementine kit when its available.

I used the Jen Martakis By the Day digital kit to make the October card and printed it on kraft cardstock. In the bottom corner I used stamps from Technique Tuesday's Monster Mash and some Martha Stewart patterned tape. Then for the other one I used stamps from Kids are Cool on one of the Becky Higgins grid cards and an adhesive border from Martha Stewart Crafts.

Here is the right side.

I added the "october" from the By the Day digital kit to the photo before I had it printed. The big bracket is also from the kit, printed on kraft, and more patterned tape and a sentiment from Technique Tuesday's Autumn Afternoons.

And here are the 2 pages together.

Narrowing down which photos to use was the most time consuming part, but still a fun and easy to do album concept. I'm looking forward to this.

Studio AE From Technique Tuesday November Blog Hop

Its time for another Studio AE blog hop. Here is this month's kit, 25 Moments by Ali Edwards

A few months ago there was a thread on 2Peas about December Daily, and a very wise Pea had an idea to do a perpetual December Daily. Something you could add to each year, and maybe use the 7 Gypsies spinner or the drawer to keep it all contained. I thought this was a great idea!

Here is my version of a perpetual DD that I'm going to do.

I call it Tags in a Tin

Here are all of my supplies. I gathered them together in this basket. I think this will save me a lot of time to keep the supplies together so I don't have to go looking for them every day.

Here they are out of the basket.

The white file folder I'm using to keep the stamps in, and I've got some loose graph paper clipped to the front for practice stamping or rough draft journaling. I'm using 2 sets from last year which are on the older 8 1/2" x 11" sheets, December Daily and Good Cheer, so I need the folder to hold these large sets. I'm also using A Date With Ali to get the year 2011 on my tags.

The tin container is something I found at the Target $1 Spot. I may upgrade to the 7 Gypsies drawer, we'll see.

I've got papers and embellishments from Basic Grey Nordic Holiday, lots of Christmas washi tape from Martha Stewart Crafts, and bakers twine from Twisted Sugar.

Here are the tags. Some are the Avery shipping tags, some are Technique Tuesday Technique Tiles, and the colored cardstock tags I cut out with the Sizzix Tim Holtz tag and bookplate die.

Since this is going to be a perpetual book I thought I'd pull some photos from prior years and try out a few tags just to see if I'd like the small size. Last year my book was 6" x 8" so these tags are a lot smaller.

This was our kitty, Koba's first Christmas in 2004

I did the journaling on the back of the tag using a Basic Grey die cut. "december" is from the Studio AE kit and the numbers are from December Daily.

I love the way the tape looks on these tags. Its such a quick and easy embellishment. The date stamp on the center tag is from Lets Call it a Date.

And here are the backs of the tags with all of the journaling. The journaling block from the December Daily stamp set is something I used a lot last year. I used it here on the center and right tags.

And here they all are back in the tin with the blank tags for 2011.

So I didn't exactly pre-make my pages, I just cut out the tags and gathered my supplies. I think this will be a fun project to do, and to add to each year.

Studio AE December Kit

The Technique Tuesday Studio AE November kit is posted and available, and wow its a good one! There is so much chatter going on right now about December Daily and these stamps are just so perfect for it.

Here is my 1st project

Its a little altered 3x5 notebook I found at Staples. I mod podged some Basic Grey Nordic Holiday patterned paper to the cover, then stamped the word art image on a Basic Grey die cut and mod podged it overtop. Last year I made a little notebook similar to this one and used it to jot down things we did each day and notes about the pictures I was taking and it was very helpful with doing the project.

I have a hybrid card to share today, and boy this one came out looking a lot better than I imagined it would. Sometimes I think up these great designs and then I make them and I'm like pfft this isn't that great. Other times I think of something and wow! I love it!

I used the No. 31 Brushes and the Hallow Fields Journaling Cards kits (poison label) both from 2Peas. The strips are from a Martha Stewart Halloween Adhesive Border Pad. And the sentiment is from Technique Tuesday's Bewitched stamp set.

Its a crazy day here in PA. Snow! We never get snow in October. And it wasn't supposed to start until tonight but its been going all morning.

Happy Monday, everyone!

I have a card to share today made with the Vino stamp set from Technique Tuesday. This set is a fairly new release. Such a fun way to celebrate a birthday. The sentiment is perfect!

I used Crate Paper Portrait patterned papers, and the tag is something I die cut from a cork coaster. I used to have some sheets of cork. Maybe I used it all up or who knows, but I couldn't find it so I just used a coaster. You know how it is when you get an idea about something. I wanted some cork on this card to go with the wine theme and the card was not being made without it!

Something Wicked This Way Comes

Kenner Road released an awesome new collection of digital and printable kits at 2Peas this week called Hallow Fields.

I was a total piggy and signed up for all of them.

These kits print out great. This treat cone is pretty scary, I know.

And for the card I went with the little girls with no eyes again!

And the little box would be so fun for party favors.

All of the sides have the great patterns and scalloped edges. All of the drop shadows are included. This all came together pretty quickly with not much more than the contents of the kits.

Hi everyone!

I have a hybrid card to share today made with one of this week's new releases at 2Peas, the I'll Boo You kit. These ghosts are so not spooky IMO. The sentiment is digitally layered on the background, and by adding a little drop shadow I think it really looks like a sticker. The ghosts were printed separately and cut out and pop dotted.

Beacuse this Halloween card has no orange I'm linking it up to this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge

and also the Tuesday Trigger

As soon as I saw this patterned paper with the teal background and lacy pattern that is actually little spiders I thought of the Trigger. What a great dress!

I was asked to contribute a project using digital stamps to the Stamping A to Z event currently going on at Two Peas in a Bucket. Letter "D" for digital is up today! I made this card using the From Russia With Love kit. Its a favorite of mine and contains several different nesting dolls, some sentiments and flourishes, and this super cute peacock.

There are different sales each day for the event and the digital stamps are on sale today.

CSS Crafty Card Sketch

Today I'm participating in the Design Team Group Challenge at Clear and Simple Stamps. Its a sketch challenge this month and here is my take on it:

For this one I used the Craft Room Limited Edition stamp set. The October Craft Room releases are so fantastic. All paper crafters need these stamps! This Limited Edition set I don't think is available anymore :( it just had a short run over WCMD weekend, but the other sets, Craft Room and Crafty Sentiments are still available.

I heat embossed the Copic bucket with gold EP. And I just love the little rolled flower corsage with the button center.

Besides the great stamps I'm really enjoying working with the inks and cardstocks made by CSS. I really love the cardstock! Very nice quality and colors and a reasonable price. I thought this was a fun and trendy color combo. I used Coral Necklace, Kraft Like a Rockstar Green, and Kraft Like a Rockstar Cream.

Hi everyone.

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days. I've been diving into a giant box of awesomeness sent to me by Clear and Simple Stamps!

But I did have time to play along with one of the Stamptoberfest challenges going on at 2Peas, and ink up some old favorites from Odd Bird Planet. I made these for a challenge to make a holiday card that combines Christmas and Halloween stamps. The gnomes climbing into the box is one stamp and the heart skull is another stamp. I tried to color the box to look more like a can. This was fun to make.

Stamptoberfest

Its Stamptoberfest time at Two Peas In a Bucket!

Stamptoberfest is a 2 week long member run event that takes place on the Stamping board at 2Peas. I host a challenge every year and this year mine is Distress, Don't Stress! Actually my challenge was going to be heat embossing but someone beat me to it, so I took another look at my sample here and since I had used 4 different Ranger Distress inks to color the tag and the ornament I went with Distress products instead.

Here is a better shot. The stamps are Technique Tuesday's Simply D'Vine. I used the Tim Holtz Carved Ornaments die and for the coloring I used Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, Milled Lavender, and Dusty Concord inks.

And there is a nice prize for one of my challenge participants from Technique Tuesday, the Petite Posies stamp set and a package of Scalloped Circles Technique Tiles.

Happy World Card Making Day 2011!

I have a few cards to share today made with the October 2011 Technique Tuesday Studio AE kit. Its very early in the morning as I'm typing this and the thumbnail with all of the kit images is not yet up on the website, but I'll post it as soon as its available.

The top card uses 2 of the stamps from the set and some felt embellishments from Pebbles.

And this one I peeked a few days ago. I'm not doing Project Life but seriously thinking about it for next year. I think this stamp would be so perfect used in one of the small pockets of a Project Life album. I sized this stamped piece credit card size, like the journaling cards from Project Life, but you could of course go longer for a bigger journaling block on a scrapbook page. I used Clear and Simple Espresso Your Style ink for the stamping, Studio Calico Memoir patterned paper, and some dried pressed flowers from Recollections/Michaels.

So for today, WCMD 2011, I don't think I'll be doing much cardmaking. My daughter is on a travel softball team and she has her first fall tournament today. I have to start waking everyone up at 6:00 am and then we'll be busy all day. Unless it rains, which is in the forecast, so who knows maybe I will be crafting today! Luckily this one is local for us. My little guy Willie cannot hang all day at these events so it'll be nice to be able to leave and go back.

My Silhouette has really been getting a workout!

Some more cutting files were released at 2Peas this week. For this one I used the Oh Baby Card Kit designed by Laina Lamb and Kimber McGray. I sized the bottle at about 5 1/4" tall, and I think its just the cutest thing ever! The teddy bears are a digi stamp from the Books Are Golden Brush kit, and the sentiment is from Technique Tuesday's Sweet Baby stamp set.

They sent me some really nice embellies and chipboard which I haven't touched yet, but cutting a piece of patterned paper is the first step, right?

Hi everyone. I have a few cards to share made with stamps from the Studio AE September kit, Family Is.

All of the patterned paper, die cuts, and border strips are from Crate Paper's Portrait collection. I won this whole collection (along with another wonderful collection from American Crafts which I'll post tomorrow) back in the summer for being a finalist in Gallery Idol. And I've done a pretty good job of using these goodies, not hoarding.

Hi everyone.

Today I have a hybrid card to share made with the Just Be digital kit, which is a new release at 2Peas this week. The paper, frame, and sentiment are from the kit. This kit is loaded with good stuff. The patterned papers are awesome, and they all have that slight fade in the center. Love that! The gear heart is a stamp from Technique Tuesday's Love Makes the World Go Round. Its heat embossed with red metallic Zing EP and has a little Copic coloring.

I signed up for an iphone photography class at Renee Pearson's shop. Anyone want to join me? Its called ishotthat! It starts 10/5. I'd like to get better and more comfortable with taking pictures with my phone, and learn about some of the other apps out there besides instagrams and hipstamatics. Actually I love those 2 apps. If all the iphone did was take pictures in those 2 apps I'd still think it was worth the price.

Happy Friday, everyone!

Today I have a springy card to share. It was a submission to Paper Crafts magazine for their March/April issue for 1 of the sketches and it didn't get picked up. Pfft, oh well, that's how it goes with +1300 submissions for 100 spots. It was fun to color. I'm sure I'll be inking up this one again, the Penny Black Pansy Bunny, when spring comes around.

September Studio AE From Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

Hello everyone, and welcome to another Technique Tuesday Studio AE blog hop.

Today we're featuring the September kit, Family Is.

For my project today I made a photo cube with our family photos from Christmas 2007, which was my little boy Willie's first Christmas.

The cube itself is a 3" square kraft box that Technique Tuesday has been selling and using for Make and Takes at their booth at the conventions. It alters up great!

I used patterned papers from Jenni Bowlin's Christmas 2011 collection and stamps from the September Studio AE kit and also the Good Cheer stamp set.

Here is our self timer family photo. "Cherish" is from the September kit. The holly berries and leaves are from Good Cheer.

My 2 kids are 8 years apart in age, so we were all very excited to have a baby in the house!

And I also made a small accordian book for the inside to hold more pictures.

I used a piece of cardstock cut to 11" x 2 3/4" and scored and folded it at 2 3/4" intervals.

We didn't take Willie to see Santa that first Christmas so when my daughter brought home the Santa she made in art class we just took a picture with her Santa :)

Hi everyone.

Today I have a hybrid card to share. I made this with the Smell My Feet digital kit. This one was released last fall. I printed this piece out when the kit came out and never made anything with it. Its been waiting very patiently! I used a stamp from Technique Tuesday's Bewitched for the background.

I made this page with the 2 Cool 4 School kit and alphas, which are new releases at 2Peas this week. We got nothing from Hurricane Irene, thank goodness, and the only photos I took were these 2 of the news on tv but I still wanted to scrap about it. I started fiddling with the frames and when my tv photos didn't look so bad in them I decided to keep going.

Happy end-of-a-long-weekend everyone!

I got some new stamps from Penny Black and decided to break them in by trying out their blog challenge for last week, which was to be inspired by something from their design team. I found this christmas card by Kathy Racoosin and wanted to try to recreate her distress inked background. I used Broken China, Faded Jeans, Spiced Marmalade, Rusty Hinge, and Scattered Straw. I'm not usually so adventurous with blending the inks, so this was a fun challenge.

Then for the tall grass I used Bundled Sage Distress and Memento Rich Cocoa.

Look at that tiny, little Frank Lloyd Wright style house. What a perfect vacation spot!

I'm playing along with a few challenges today, first up is this color challenge from The Play Date Cafe. I made my card with Technique Tuesday's Rock On and Glee stamp sets.

Then I found out that CAS-ual Fridays had the same color combo, but with the additional requirement "read all over" you had to be inspired by a book.

Here is a hint to my book inspiration. I had use a different sentiment than the one I originally planned.

Studio AE September Kit

Hi everyone! Sorry I didn't get this posted yesterday on kit reveal day. I started the post early in the morning yesterday and now here it is early in the morning on the 2nd and I'm just now getting back to it.

I used 3 of the stamps from the September Studio AE kit, Family Is, on the tag on the center photo. The tag on the bottom left is from another very useful Technique Tuesday set, A Date With Ali.

I took these photos a few weeks ago on my little boy, Willie's last day of school. It was also the last day at the Autistic support classroom he's been in since he turned 3. We made the decision over the summer to move him to a new school with a Verbal Behavior program since he's still not talking. So that was his last day at the old school followed by a 2 week break and this week he started the new school. We took him to tour the new school back in July and took pictures and I've been showing him the pictures to try to get him ready. Monday he got on the bus and I drove over to the school to meet the bus and when the doors opened I could see he was pulling away from the aid, not wanting to get off the bus. Waah! So I got on the bus and picked him up and carried him in and had to hold him for quite awhile in the classroom. But this gave me a chance to talk to the teacher some more and eventually he got comfortable enough to let me leave. He had the angriest look on his face when he got home on Monday and he was really tired and took a nap, which he doesn't normally do, so then he was up until about 11:00 Monday night. But I talked to the teacher and the speech therapist every day this week and they said he was doing great. He napped Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, and was up late each night, but yesterday he came home and didn't nap and went to bed at regular time, 8:30, and there's no school on Friday so we made it through the first week.

Technique Tuesday Printables Blog Hop

Hi everyone!

I'm a Stamping Tech for Technique Tuesday and I'm excited to be taking part in a blog hop with my stamping pals.

Today, all of us are playing with the new printables Technique Tuesday recently debuted at the Stamping conventions they go to. These printed sheets (Candy Cane, Harvest Time, and Hocus Pocus) consist of designs you can cut up and use to decorate cards, scrapbook pages, and other paper crafted projects. They will be available on the Technique Tuesday website soon.

Here is my project made with the Candy Cane printables

A card and cupcake topper. A treat to leave out for Santa, maybe? Besides the printables I used some glitter paper and gold corrugated cardstock I got in a K&Co holiday pack a few years ago. It was so easy!

And I have some great recipes to share. The cupcake recipe I found on Pinterest. It uses a box cake mix with some extras added, and its excellent! And here is the frosting, which is the closest to bakery frosting I've found.

Scare Up Some Fun

Happy Monday!

We survived hurricane Irene with no damage or loss of power. Yay! Saturday had a lot of windy rain most of the day. We were stocked up and just stayed inside. My little boy, Willie woke up at 3 am on Sunday morning, up for the day. He has sensory issues that make him uncomfortable and this happens on a pretty regular basis. He gets up in the middle of the night and I get up, too, and we're starting our day in the middle of the night. So we came downstairs and my husband was still awake watching the news about the hurricane and checking our basement. I sent him to bed and then I kept watch. I was very happy when the sun came up and we still had power! We had 1 small leak through our heater, which was just installed in January, so we put in a service call and have someone coming out today for that. Otherwise all is well.

So for this card I really let the patterned paper do the work for me. Its from a Martha Stewart Crafts 5" x 7" pad that came out last year. The scene is just so cute! The sentiment, bats, and owl are from Technique Tuesday's Bewitched.

I did some digi scrapping this week with a few of the new releases at 2Peas.

I took this picture last week when we were on vacation at the Jersey shore. The best part of the trip was how much Willie liked the beach. He's autistic, and back when he was 1 and 2 years old he did not like the beach. Didn't like the feel of the sand or the cold ocean. Last year he tolerated it. He would play on the sand and in the ocean for maybe 15-30 minutes and then go sit in his wagon when he'd had enough. But this year he really liked it! We stayed in the ocean until his teeth were chattering and he still didn't want to get out. Yay!

The kits I used for the layout are Sample Pack #23 and You Are My Sunshine.

And here is a card I made with one of last week's releases, Botanical Brushery 1.

This kit is loaded with formal, fancy flowers. Here I just printed one on Gina K Ivory cardstock and colored it with Copics. The sentiment is from Papertrey Star Prints and the patterned paper is from Studio Calico Autumn Press.

Hi everyone! Today I'm playing along with the color challenge at CR84FN - yellow, kraft, and a neutral.

I got some goodies in the mail last week. My prize package from Paper Crafts Gallery Idol! I cracked into it this morning and resisted the urge to hoard these beautiful Crate Paper Portrait papers and border stickers. The owl stamps are Melvin and Vernie from Sweet Stamp Shop. Orange You Sweet!

Sorry I left the blog unattended for so long. We were able to get away to the Jersey shore last week for vacation. It was exhausting, but in a good way!

This orange-ey card is published in the new Paper Crafts special issue, Card Ideas for Paper Crafters.

Its hard to tell from the photo, but the oranges (from Technique Tuesday's Fruit Stand) are heat embossed with orange embossing powder. The background is dry embossed with the Papertrey Woodgrain Impression plate, and has a light brushing of Antique Linen Distress ink. I think I was inspired by those crates of clemetine oranges that are always around in the wintertime.

Steampunk Style Card and Gift Box Set

Happy Monday, everyone

I went another round with my Silhouette, this time making a dimensional flower using Laina Lamb's Folded Flowers kit and some 7 Gypsies Camden patterned papers.

For the card I used Technique Tuesday's Pulling For You stamp set. The image is stamped on the patterned paper, then stamped again on Copic X-Press cardstock, colored, cut out and pop dotted on the card.

I added some Glossy Accents and clear microbeads to the flower center and around the petals and leaves. The chipboard box is something I found at Michaels.

August Studio AE From Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

Today we're featuring projects made with the August kit, This One.

I just love all of the words, phrases, and the arrows in this kit. These are great for descriptions, journaling prompts, and sentiments for cards.

Here is my layout:

This is a picture of my husband, John, last year at Thanksgiving. When he saw me making this layout he said he didn't think a picture of him was a good way to sell stamps. Hah!

This was a very happy day for us. He had just finished a rough battle with colon cancer and his tests were coming back clean and he was starting to feel good again.

Journaling reads: One year ago, Nov 2009, my 46 year old husband was diagnosed with stage 3 Colon Cancer. That 2009 Thanksgiving was a quiet one. A lot of nervous anticipation for the surgery in December followed by 6 months of chemo. But look at him here! A few months after chemo and his CTs and PETs were all coming back clean. He was getting his energy back and we hosted Thanksgiving at our house and grilled our turkey. What a difference a year can make!

I really love the way the arrows guide the page. What a great little embellishment!

I also used Technique Tuesday's This Life and the "gratitude" sentiment is from Family Circle.

Today I have a Christmas card to share made with more new Technique Tuesday. This sentiment is from Celebrate the Seasons designed by Ali Edwards. The chipboard house is from the K&Co Glad Tidings Joy and Presents Chipbox.

I bought a bunch of Christmas embellies end of season last year for like 80% off, and this chipbox was one of them. After Christmas Michael's decided to move all of their holiday papercrafting stuff to the opposite end of the store (with the baking stuff) to put it on sale??? When I found the display I grabbed a bunch of stuff and then had the cashier scan everything to check the prices and they were too good to pass up. Because I have limited space here at home I put them in a sterlite box in my basement and they've been hiding down there all this time. So when the new stamps showed up you can imagine how happy I was to have these!

Hello everyone. Today I'm playing along with the Play Date Cafe and using their fresh and fruity color combo for this week:

The stamps I used are Technique Tuesday's Fabulous. I clear embossed the sentiment and then used Ranger Distress Worn Lipstick ink and the foam blending tool for an emboss resist. The butterflies are stamped in Memento Angel Pink and Ladybug, and Palette Giverney Green.

I'll be back tomorrow with a Christmas card made with more new Technique Tuesday stamps :)

Sweet Stamp Shop Grand Opening Blog Hop

Love these hard candies - fun to color and easy to cut out! (Do you recognize this card sketch? Its from pg 102 in Card Ideas for Paper Crafters which I just got this week!)

The gumball machine stamp comes empty but there are a few gumball stamps in the set. I wiped the ink off of the bottom of the center rod before I stamped the machine, then I stamped a few of the gumballs and just drew in the rest with a black Memento marker.

August Scrapbook Stamping at 2Peas

Second post of the day, I know, but I just couldn't wait to share the layout I made for my guest spot in Nichol Macgouirk's August Scrapbook Stamping class.

The technique this month is Emboss Resist. Before I talk about emboss resist I want to talk about this picture. I don't usually scrap 8" x 10" photos, but this was taken a few years back and we had it framed for awhile, then swapped out the picture in the frame so I had it sitting here and one thing led to another and a layout was born. When we first started taking family vacations to the Jersey shore I would bring my SLR camera with me to the beach and always worried about it getting wet or sandy. Sometimes I'd never take out the camera or the perspective of the photos was just so far away from where the action was. Then one year I bought a disposable underwater camera and took it right in the ocean with us, and my beach pictures improved 1000%. This is one of those pictures, and every time I see it I'm so thankful that I started buying the disposable underwater cameras.

Here is a close up of the tags that I made using emboss resist:

These are basic Avery office supply tags. For the 2 shipping tags I stamped the sentiments from Awesome Days of Summer in Versamark ink, then heat embossed using clear embossing powder. Then I used the Ranger foam blending tool and applied Distress inks in Bundled Sage and Faded Jeans. The ink "resists" the heat embossing and you get these cool negative images. There is a great video on applying the inks with the blending tool in Jennifer McGuire's Thinking Inking series on 2Peas if you've never tried it before. For the 2 metal rimmed tags I clear embossed and applied the inks (Scattered Straw and Tumbled Glass) on white cardstock, then used a 1" circle punch to cut out the images and fit them in the rims of the tags.

Studio AE August Kit

Today is the 1st, so I can start sharing some of the projects I made with Technique Tuesday's Studio AE August kit, This One.

This kit has some great phrases perfect for cards. For this card I used some Sassafras Sweetly Smitten patterned paper, the SU! Spiral punch, a Jillibean Soup corrugated heart, some cabochons and a flower from Recollections/Michaels, and Cola Red bakers twine from twistedsugartwine.
