December Studio AE from Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

Hello, and welcome to another Studio AE Blog Hop!

Today we're featuring the December kit, My Life by Ali Edwards

This set has some great journaling prompts.  Perfect for year end or all about me pages.

Here is a layout I made with the stamp set

Landscape 8 1/2" x 11" pages don't fit too well in the Blogger template.  Here are some closeups

I stamped the Ongoing Story sentiment on a little office envelope from Basic Grey Clippings.

Me today @45 and my changing role.  When I had Mary Rose 13 years ago I went back to work full time when she was 12 weeks old.  Then I had Willie 8 years later.  I had him the day before I turned 40.  Anytime someone asks me if I did anything special when I turned 40 I tell them that I spent the day in the maternity ward with a brand new baby.  Best birthday ever.  Then I resigned from my job and got to be a stay at home mom.  Best job ever.  Willie was diagnosed Autistic when he was 2, and I've been managing services and keeping our house like a revolving door with different therapists coming in and out.  My time staying at home has stretched longer than we planned.  Willie will be going to kindergarten in the fall, and if I'm able to survive all of the transition meetings, IEP, and school selection I'm going to try to go back to work and bring some money into this house.

This is a lot more than I wrote on the layout, but I felt it needed a bit of a back story.

Here are the rest of the stops on the hop:

Jocelyn Cutchens (December's special guest!)

Laura (you are here)

We're giving away a $25 gift certificate to the Technique Tuesday store by random draw from the comments left on the hop.  The winner will be announced 12/13 on the Technique Tuesday blog.

I love the landscape layout of a 8.5" x 11". Family layouts are so touching. Thanks for sharing the background story for the layout. I have a nephew with an autistic spectrum disorder. He's been going to an early learning school and loves it! Mt husband and I have noticed such a postive difference in his personality since he started at this school. Good luck deciding on a school for your son! I'm sure it's a bittersweet moment.

Thank you for sharing about you! My son is on the autism spectrum also (an aspie) so I know some of the trials and time commitments involved with caring for someone with extra challenges. I hope that all goes well for you with your plans and your son's transition into school!
Thanks again for sharing your fabulous creations!

And like you...I intended to go back but my son diagnosed with multiple food allergies( life threatening ..almost lost him once) , has severe acid reflux and has severe food aversion. So between his allergist, therapist, and all the other docs..it is really not possible . But I don't have regrets, I am blessed to have him and I enjoy being with him.

I love how you used ali's stamps on your layout...I am always afraid to stamp directly on my pages so I like seeing how you stamped on a smaller paper and added it to your layout. Thanks for sharing!
